Nicole Pinkerton, MD

DR. NICOLE PINKERTONDr. Pinkerton is a board certified obstetrician-gynecologist.  After graduating from Duke University, she attended medical school at the University of Kansas.  From there, she completed her residency at the University of New Mexico.  This was when she and her family first visited and fell in love with southwest Colorado.

We then relocated to Colorado in 2001, first to Colorado Springs and then Durango in 2010.  She practiced both Obstetrics and Gynecology for 9 years prior to her move to Durango.  However, since her relocation she has chosen to limit her practice to Gynecology only.  She is now able to focus on the parts of her training that she finds interesting and fulfilling.  Dr. Pinkerton is a diplomate of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.  She is also a member of the La Plata County Medical Society.

Dr. Pinkerton is married with 2 active boys.  Her hobbies include yoga, camping, skiing and spending time with her family.  She enjoys the opportunity to develop relationships with her patients and work with them to achieve their goals.

Dr. Chamberlain is a board certified obstetrician-gynecologist.  He earned his medical degree and completed his residency at the University of Kentucky. Following his residency, he joined his father, also an obstetrician-gynecologist, in private practice.  He completed his training using a da Vinci robot and plans to offer laparoscopy options to his patients in the Four Corners area.  His clinical interests include general gynecology, hysteroscopy, incontinence procedures and minimally invasive surgery.

He was drawn to this area because of his love for the outdoors.  In his free time, he enjoys cycling, skiing and spending time with his wife and two young children.

Cweb-6Cheryl Cottingham,                                                                                 Surgical First Assistant/Surgical Technologist

Cheryl is a Colorado native.  She is originally from the Front Range and recently relocated to Durango  after 4 years in Wisconsin to further her education.  She began her career as a Surgical Technologist and has now completed additional training at the Mayo Clinic to become a Surgical First Assistant.  She now works in the clinic and the operating room.  She is able to build a relationship with our patients and follow them to the operating room.  This is a very fulfilling parts of her job.  Cheryl is married with 4 children.
