About

Dr. Nicole Pinkerton

After completing her training in New Mexico, she and her husband relocated to Colorado.  She was in a private Obstetrics and Gynecology practice for 9 years in Colorado Springs prior to her move to Durango in 2010.  Since her relocation, she has chosen to limit her practice to Gynecology only.  She is now able to focus on women’s health and surgical treatments of gynecologic issues.

Dr Pinkerton enjoys the relationships she is able to create with her patients.  She is interested in optimizing your health through disease prevention, early detection and shared decision making.

She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.  She is married with 2 active boys.  She is grateful that she is able to spend time with her family in this beautiful place.

Philosophy

My Approach

Compassion

Compassion is defined as a sympathetic consciousness of others’ distress together with a desire to alleviate it. I approach my day-to-day interactions with this in mind.

Shared decision making

I view every patient as an individual and tailor treatment plans specific to the diagnosis and goals of the patient. I bring my expertise to the conversation and view my role as an educator so that each person can make their own informed health care decisions.

Safety

Safety is a big priority in both the office and the operating room. I strive to follow all available guidelines and recommendations concerning safety, infection prevention, and the prevention of complications.

My goals

  • Provide quality service
  • Care for each patient with skill and excellence
  • Be a partner in your health care
  • Be a good listener
  • Create an environment of comfort, safety and care

Community

In addition to my professional activities, I work with the following organizations that provide assistance to women and improve the health and well being of our community.

  • Women’s Resource Center
  • Durango Pregnancy Center
  • KSUT, Four Corners Public Radio
  • Environmental Working Group

Quality

I am committed to staying informed and up to date on the latest medical information and surgical techniques.
