What you can expect?
After you begin nutrition counseling, clients realize we are formulating a program together for you. Every week or two, you will meet for a series of nutritional consultations (usually 36 consultations over a few months). You will leave each consultation with SPECIFIC goals, food recommendations and combinations, shopping lists, activity recommendations and mindfulness activities. Your custom meal plan will be based on lean body weight, height, age, sex, activity level, basal metabolism, genetic and lifestyle risk factors and food preferences.
We provide weekly goals, shopping lists, meal plans and nutritional information based on your lifestyle and preferences. You are able to buy food at the store of your choice. We get specific, no generic diet sheets.
The program is designed to provide incremental learning. First, we provide the ingredients for 3-5 minute meals and snacks concentrating on the correct combinations of foods for each patient’s metabolic needs. Then, in subsequent nutritional sessions, patients are taught how to eat and are provided with specific name brand foods and how to incorporate them into their lifestyle. Finally, by the 3rd to 6th session, patients have the skills and knowledge necessary to eat healthy in a variety of real life situations, such as traveling, restaurants and social occasions.
Our patients are successful and motivated to adopt lifestyle changes because we provide
healthy, widely available supermarket food
detailed shopping lists
food combinations and simple recipes
weekly goals
recommendations for name brand foods
realistic exercise programs
specific eating out guidelines
stress reduction
long-term behavioral changes
focus on blood sugar management NOT calorie management
and so much more
The Secret to our program is a customized nutritional program for the specific metabolic needs and food preferences of each patient!!
